NSTP/NBC and UNHCR collaborated on a pioneering four-month entrepreneurship program for 30 young Afghan participants at *NUST Balochistan Campus, Quetta starting wef Sep 2024. This initiative, part of the UNHCR-funded ESSY (Cohort 2) program, aimed to empower participants with vital entrepreneurial and leadership skills. The reknowned teachers, mentors and instructors gave valuable insight to the Afghan youth through 13 subjects spanning over 23 sessions, totalling over 125 hrs.
The graduation ceremony held on 19 Dec 2024 showcased presentations from the students and was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Rana Mashood, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program. Other notable speakers included Prof. Dr. Mughees Aslam, CEO PPAF Nadir Bareach, and a representative from UNHCR.
Each participant was awarded a seed fund of PKR 400,000 to support their entrepreneurial ventures.
Following the ceremony, Mr. Rana Mashood (Chief guest), Prof. Dr. Mughees Aslam (Dean and Dir NBC), and the Dir NSTP toured the campus.
The Chief Guest expressed immense satisfaction with the program and lauded NUST for its pivotal role in facilitating this impactful initiative, offering highly positive feedback.
