The NUST Balochistan Campus recently hosted a one-day seminar titled “Climate Resilience: Strengthening Society in the Face of Environmental Challenges.” The event featured Prof. Dr. Anila Ali, Chairperson of the Department of Environmental Sciences at BUITEMS, Quetta, as the esteemed guest speaker.

Prof. Dr. Anila Ali delivered an engaging and informative session focused on five crucial steps to save the Earth:

1.Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle: Emphasizing the importance of minimizing waste, Prof. Dr. Anila Ali discussed practical strategies for reducing consumption, reusing materials, and recycling waste to decrease our environmental footprint.

2.Energy Conservation: She highlighted the significance of conserving energy by adopting efficient practices and utilizing renewable energy sources to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.

3.Eco-Friendly Transport: Prof. Dr. Anila Ali underscored the need for sustainable transportation options, advocating for the use of public transport, cycling, walking, and electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions.

4.Planting Trees: She stressed the vital role of trees in combating climate change, improving air quality, and maintaining biodiversity, encouraging participants to engage in tree-planting activities.

5.Reducing Plastic Waste: Prof. Dr. Anila Ali discussed the detrimental impact of plastic pollution on ecosystems and proposed measures to reduce plastic usage and enhance waste management practices.
