MESSAGE FROM A/CAMPUS DIRECTOR & DEAN

The current progression in Civil Engineering and Computing has transformed our lives enormously. The way we communicate and commute, our health and environment, what we eat and how we live is all one way or the other linked to Civil Engineering and ComputerSciences. As Principal and Dean of NUST Balochistan Campus (NBC), it’s an honor to lead the NUST new campus at Balochistan. My goal at NBC is to transform the civil engineering / computer sciences education as well as their practices in Balochistan and development of local human resources accordingly. It may sound utopian, but this precisely is our endeavour. It is what motivates our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and supporters. We are driven by the belief that Pakistan’s civil engineering and computing industry is faced with numerous challenges such as budgetary constraints and lesser technology that demands from us, a problem-solving research and development. The country’s national goal of economic development through CPEC is a major challenge demanding interdisciplinary fusion of engineering and computing fields. This has also provided us with an opportunity to equip ourselves with the emerging knowledge in these fields, all so important to the sustainability of the CPEC. To prove equal to the task, we are prepared to focus on the 6C’s fundamental concepts in our education system to enhance quality of our graduates to enable them to contribute innovatively to the engineering& sciences practices in Pakistan. As a Principal/Dean of the college, I am pleased to share our academic focus as shown in the figure. It lays equal emphasis on the quality of our graduates and capacity of our faculty. For the students; we will make learning easy, interesting, and practical to enhance their employability through industrial outreach. For the faculty, we will build their capacity through training in advanced areas in their respective fields, giving them initiative to secure industrial projects, organize seminars, workshops to facilitate them in problem solving research and on innovation.
